Practicing rotational grazing since 2019
RRR is home to 121 cow-calf pairs that are rotationally grazed. We move the herd every two to three days. Stewardship includes managing the ranch environment and the herd to promote natural behavior, healthy soil, low input, and sustainable practices.
The steer calves are marketed and sold to grass-fed finishing operations that maintain similar practices.

Rotational grazing periods and recovery time allows the soil microbes time to transfer nutrients from the earth to the plant's roots.

Working with the Culpeper Soil and Water District we have fenced out the Rapidan River and most of the streams that feed it. This safeguards the water sources from cattle intrusion.
